Analiza obecności języka polskiego w krajobrazie językowym londyńskiej dzielnicy
Abstrakt
Artykuł opisuje język polski w przestrzeni publicznej londyńskiej dzielnicy Ealing znanej jako miejsce ulokowania polskiej diaspory. W opracowaniu przedstawiono status języka polskiego, kwestię dominacji języka angielskiego nad językiem polskim oraz podjęto próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie, w jaki sposób języki te łączą się w oznakowaniu dwu-/wielojęzycznym. Do analizy korpusu znaków przyjęto ramy metodologiczne obejmujące aspekty analizy semiotycznej i językowej, takie jak: kontekst, domena, dominacja języka, gatunek i funkcja tekstu. Język polski indeksuje i konstruuje przestrzenie publiczne w różnych obszarach dzielnicy Ealing jako miejsca tożsamości, a tym samym Polacy poprzez swoje działania przyczyniają się do wysokiego stopnia żywotności etnolingwistycznej języka.
